Know the scope.
Federal construction standards
Questions focus on 29 CFR Part 1926. Read each scenario carefully: the activity, equipment, and conditions can change which rule applies. State Plans may have different or more protective requirements.
Ask your employer about task-specific training, site procedures, and the controls required for your work. Use OSHA’s State Plan directory to find your jurisdiction.
Apprentices, journeymen, foremen, supervisors, and students can use it to revisit construction safety concepts. The questions cover everyday hazard recognition and more detailed applications of federal rules.
Which safety topics are covered?
Fall protection, ladders, scaffolds, PPE, electrical and power-tool safety, housekeeping, material handling, silica and respiratory hazards, hazard communication, excavation and trenching, workers’ rights and employer responsibilities, and general hazard recognition.
How are rounds selected and scored?
Each round draws 12 questions from a bank of 100: one per topic and four at each difficulty. Questions and answer choices are shuffled. Each correct answer earns one point, for a maximum of 12. Play Again gives you a new mix.
Where do the answers come from?
Explanations reference official OSHA or other U.S. government sources. Regulatory questions identify the applicable standard and paragraph; recommendations are identified as guidance. Requirements can change. Check current rules, equipment instructions, and site procedures before doing the work.
