The details behind a good ceiling.
Know the parts before the layout
Main runners, cross tees, perimeter molding, and panels each have a job. Grid face width and panel edge detail must work together. A 15/16-inch face and a 9/16-inch face are different system choices, not a measure of ceiling height.
A centered layout is more than finding the middle of the room. Compare border widths, check field dimensions, and coordinate the grid with lights and other ceiling elements. A square grid can still meet walls that are out of square.
ACT means acoustical ceiling tile in this quiz. The questions cover suspended ceiling components, panel edges, layout, leveling tools, installation, and practical field decisions. It is a construction quiz, unrelated to the college admissions test.
Is the quiz free, and do I need an account?
It is free and works without an account. There is no timer, subscription, or leaderboard. Your round stays in this page and starts fresh if you reload.
How are questions selected and scored?
Each round draws 12 questions from a bank of 100: two from each of six topics and four at each difficulty level. Questions and answer choices are shuffled. Each correct answer earns one point, for a maximum of 12.
Can I review answers or try again?
Yes. Every answer comes with an explanation and source references. The results screen includes a topic breakdown and a review of all 12 answers. Choose Play Again for a fresh round, or Share Quiz to send the quiz link.
Does a high score qualify me to install ceilings?
No. This is an educational practice quiz, not a qualification or installation specification. Use the project drawings, approved details, applicable requirements, and manufacturer instructions for the exact system being installed.
