WHY IT MADE THE LIST
Why I still keep a corded circular saw.
I use this saw for blocking, rough wood framing, ripping plywood, temporary protection, and just about anything else that involves rough wood. The reason I keep coming back to it is simple: it has the steady power that battery saws still do not feel like they have to me.
When I am really running the saw, I do not want to think about the battery getting low or the tool changing character halfway through a cut.

What I actually use it for.
I use it for cutting blocking, framing lumber, plywood, protection, and door undercuts. It is the saw I want when the cut is long enough or the material is heavy enough that consistency matters more than cordless convenience.
I also like it for thicker or pressure-treated lumber, where I notice the difference in power and stability more.
Why I like it.
It is more maneuverable than a worm-drive saw and, to me, less bulky than some competing sidewinders. The blade guides give me a predictable reference and the base feels stable through the cut.
That stability is especially noticeable when I am undercutting a door or doing a cut where wandering off the line would create more work.
THE HONEST PART
What I do not like.
There is not much I dislike about this saw. The obvious tradeoff is the cord itself. I need power nearby and I have to manage the cord while I work.
For me, that inconvenience is worth it when I want full, consistent power and a stable cut.
MY VERDICT
Would I recommend it?
Absolutely. I have used this style of saw since the beginning of my career, and it is still the one I trust when I care more about power and consistency than portability.
