Current insulation logic

BidSimp calculates gross area, subtracts the opening types you enter, then applies your allowance. Studs and framing are not deducted separately in V1. Use the allowance that fits your estimating method and verify the project details before ordering.

HOW IT WORKS

Insulation square-footage calculator

Estimate net insulation area without locking the takeoff to one manufacturer or batt size. Enter wall or ceiling dimensions, or start with a known square footage when your takeoff already gives you the area.

Subtract repeated openings quickly

Add opening types such as windows, doors or storefront, enter width × height and quantity, and BidSimp deducts the combined opening area from the gross insulation area.

Carry your own allowance

After openings are deducted, apply the allowance you want for cuts, waste, framing effects or your estimating method. V1 intentionally stays product-neutral and does not assume a batt or package size.
