DEWALT 3 x 360 Green Line Laser Review
The laser that has a fingerprint on almost everything I do.
I use this laser everywhere. The green line is easy for me to see, the layout is useful from multiple directions, and I trust it more than the other lasers I have tried.

WHY IT MADE THE LIST
Why this tool stayed in my rotation.
If there is one tool on this list that touches almost every kind of work I do, it is this laser. I use it for metal framing, drywall, ceilings, doors, and even hanging pictures at home. It has a fingerprint on everything I do because a reliable reference line solves problems in almost every phase of interior construction.
I have used this type of DEWALT laser since the beginning of my career. I have also used other brands, but I never developed the same level of trust in them. That trust is the real reason this one stays at the top of my list.
“This laser has a fingerprint on everything I do.
What I actually use it for.
On framing work, I use it for layout and reference lines. On ceilings, I use it for elevations and to carry a level reference around a space. On door work, I use it when I need to level or align hollow-metal frame legs. It is also one of those tools that ends up solving little problems that were never the reason you bought it in the first place.
I especially like being able to set the laser down in the middle of a chalk line and work from it in multiple directions. That makes the tool feel flexible instead of forcing me to reposition it constantly.
Why I like it.
The green line stands out well to my eye, and that matters in real spaces where lighting is never perfect. I also like the tool-to-battery size ratio. The battery is compact enough that the laser does not feel like a small instrument with an oversized battery hanging off it.
More than anything, I like knowing what I am going to get when I turn it on. I have used other lasers with bulkier batteries or weaker magnets, and I never felt the same confidence in them.
THE HONEST PART
What I do not like.
I can honestly say I do not have a major complaint. If I am being extremely picky, I would make the magnets just a little stronger. There are quick situations where I want to stick the laser to a finished corner bead and feel more confident that it is going to stay exactly where I put it.
How long I have used it.
I have used this type of laser since the start of my career. That is a long enough sample for me to know the preference is not about novelty. It is the laser I trust because I know how it behaves and because it has repeatedly worked across the different parts of my trade.
MY VERDICT
Would I recommend it?
This is my top laser choice. I use it constantly, I trust it, and I would buy the same type again without having to shop the category from scratch.
