Why the DEWALT cordless drywall gun is still the one I want in my hand.

WHY IT MADE THE LIST
Why this tool stayed in my rotation.
The drywall screwgun in the photo is not brand new, and that is exactly why I like using it here. I have had this gun since 2018, it has been on real jobs for years, and it still works. The current model linked on this page is the DCF630B, because DEWALT no longer sells the exact older generation pictured in my tool collection.
What kept me with this platform was never just speed. It is the way the gun feels when the screw drives, the way the weight sits in my hand, and the overall balance. I have tried other screwguns, and for me they have never felt quite as natural.

What I actually use it for.
I use a drywall screwgun primarily for drywall, obviously, but I have also used it for some framing. For repeated board fastening, the dedicated screwgun feel is very different from treating an impact driver like the answer to everything.
The reason balance matters is that drywall work is repetition. A tool can be powerful and still feel wrong after hundreds of screws. I like this one because it is light, ergonomic, and balanced well enough that the tool feels like it belongs in the motion.
Why I like it.
The drive feel is my favorite part. I like the feedback as the screw seats, and I like how little the gun fights my hand. The body is light without feeling flimsy, and the center of gravity works for the way I hang board.
That is why I call it my all-time favorite cordless drywall gun. I have used other screwguns, but the balance has never felt the same to me.
THE HONEST PART
What I do not like.
After years of use, the metal belt hook can loosen. That is the main durability annoyance I have run into. I have also noticed that when I use the cordless gun for wood framing, it does not have the same torque as a corded gun. It can do the work, but that is not where I think the cordless screwgun is at its best.
How long I have used it.
My pictured screwgun is from 2018 and still works perfectly. Because the exact generation has changed, I think it is important to separate the tool I have personally beaten up for years from the current DCF630B model you can actually buy today. The recommendation is based on my long experience with the DEWALT cordless drywall screwgun platform.
MY VERDICT
Would I recommend it?
I absolutely recommend it for drywall work. The balance, light weight, and drive feel are the reasons I keep coming back. If I am hanging board and want a cordless drywall gun, DEWALT is still my first choice.
