DEWALT DCS354B ATOMIC 20V MAX Oscillating Multi-Tool Review
I do not use it every day, but when I need it, it usually saves me a headache.
This is the tool I keep around for the little cut that a Sawzall is too big for and snips cannot grab.

WHY IT MADE THE LIST
Why this tool earns a spot in the gang box.
I do not use an oscillating tool constantly. That is actually part of why I like this one. It can sit there for a while, then suddenly be the only tool that makes sense for a weird little problem.
If there is a small piece of wood to trim, a difficult cut in an awkward area, or a little piece of metal that needs to be nicked out of the way, this is the kind of tool that saves me from turning a tiny problem into a much bigger operation.
“It comes in clutch at exactly the moment the normal tools do not fit.
What I actually use it for.
I use it for small wood cuts, difficult cuts where a larger saw will not fit, and detail work that needs more control than a full-size reciprocating saw gives me.
Sometimes a Sawzall is too large and aggressive. Sometimes snips cannot get onto the piece. The oscillating tool fills that gap.
Why I like it.
The biggest thing is access. I can get the blade into places where the normal cutting tools are awkward or impossible to use cleanly.
It has bailed me out enough times that I consider it worth carrying even though it is not one of my highest-use tools.
THE HONEST PART
What I do not like.
It can be loud and irritating, especially in an occupied space. That high-pitched oscillating-tool sound gets old fast.
That does not change what the tool is good at, but it makes me think about when and where I use it instead of treating it like the first cutting tool for every job.
MY VERDICT
Would I recommend it?
Absolutely. I would not buy it because I expect to use it every hour. I would buy it because the few times nothing else fits, it can save a ridiculous amount of frustration.
