A twin is one opening with two equal door leaves. Example: one 6'-0" x 7'-0" twin is counted as 1 opening and 2 leaves at 3'-0" x 7'-0" each. For twins, choose the active leaf hand when there is one, or record Both Active or No Active Leaf.
FIELD WORKFLOW
Door takeoffs built for a job walk.
Use Door Field Takeoff when you need to capture openings quickly without building a full hardware schedule. Record the overall opening size, the door handing, and whether the opening is a single or twin assembly, then let BidSimp keep the quantities organized.
Singles and twin assemblies
Single doors count as one opening and one leaf. Twin doors count as one opening and two equal leaves, while preserving the overall pair size in the field log.
Handing where you need it
Record LH, RH, LHR, or RHR for singles. For twins, record the active leaf hand, Both Active, or No Active Leaf. If you need a refresher before calling the swing, use the Door Handing Lesson or practice in the Door Handing Trainer.
